RRE’s role

RedRooEnergy does not issue product certifications or regulatory approvals. Manufacturers, suppliers and other legally responsible parties must establish and satisfy the requirements applicable to their products and intended Australian markets. RRE reviews submitted evidence against its own marketplace participation requirements.

Start with the exact product and intended application

Identify each model, configuration, voltage range and intended use. Household, commercial, industrial, grid-connected and standalone equipment can have different requirements. Overseas certification or a CE/FCC mark does not automatically establish Australian compliance.

Australian standards and electrical safety

Establish which Australian or Australian/New Zealand Standards apply, including the relevant edition and any transition arrangements. A standard is not automatically a legal requirement merely because it exists; obligations may arise through legislation, regulation, network conditions or contracts. Confirm applicable State or Territory electrical safety requirements with the relevant authority or a suitably qualified adviser.

CEC product listings

The Clean Energy Council maintains product lists relevant to specified incentive schemes and network requirements. Listing is not a universal approval for every application. Check the exact model and current listing conditions when relevant; products can be suspended or delisted.

EESS and Australian responsible parties

Determine whether the equipment falls within the Electrical Equipment Safety System, its classification and the applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the responsible supplier, any required equipment registration and supporting evidence. Do not assume that all renewable-energy equipment follows the same registration or certification pathway.

RCM, testing and certification

The Regulatory Compliance Mark is used in electrical safety and ACMA arrangements. It is not interchangeable with CEC listing or a test certificate. Establish relevant safety, EMC, radio or telecommunications requirements and retain the model-specific declarations, test evidence and registrations required before marking and supply. Independent testing and certification must match the actual product and applicable pathway.

Grid-connected and standalone systems

Grid-connected equipment must address the relevant electricity network’s connection conditions as well as product and installation obligations. Off-grid or standalone use does not automatically remove electrical safety, equipment, wiring or installation requirements. Confirm the intended system design and installation requirements with qualified professionals rather than treating an overseas approval as sufficient.

Technical documents and traceability

Prepare exact model and variant specifications, current certificates, test reports and English installation, operation and maintenance instructions. Ensure photographs, product labels and document versions agree. Identify manufacturing locations and the parties responsible for importing, supply, installation and support.

Warranties, consumer rights and Australian support

Document warranty terms, claim handling, spare parts, technical assistance and Australian support arrangements. Voluntary warranties do not replace applicable Australian Consumer Law guarantees. Confirm the responsibilities of the entities involved and avoid promising support arrangements that are not established.

Prepare before applying

Use the existing supplier preparation page to organise company identity, manufacturing locations, authorised representatives, registrations, product evidence and fulfilment information. Preparing documents or contacting RRE does not approve a supplier or product. Public onboarding submissions remain restricted.
